Jeep Talk Spoken Here No sense being too complicated until (unless?) posts and traffic warrant categories to be set up. Who wants to search through dozens of forums anyway?

Default Two post garage lift lifting points

When I first got the Wrangler JK, of course I wanted to put it up on my garage lift to check it out, but it was a bit disconcerting trying to locate suitable points on the frame to put the lift arm pads. The problem was on the passenger side rear, as the fuel tank is so close to the frame, that it didn't look feasible to put a pad on the frame there with any hopes of it being a solid lift point.

So I looked around online, and found a solution that seems to work out pretty well. The bolts apparently holding the body to the frame appear to be in excellent positions to be used as lifting points, and since at least one major shop working on Wranglers and selling products for them uses this method, than I am presuming that this is acceptable.

The bolt ends fit right into those open sleeves for the pad extensions, and the Jeep feels very stable and secure up on the lift. Of course, you do have to do some maneuvering to get the sleeves to line up with those bolts, and it takes a bit of time, but if it works, it works.
